Job Description & How to Apply Below
Your new company
You'll be joining a well-established organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable individuals across Coventry. The team works collaboratively with local partners, health services and housing providers to help people experiencing homelessness, rough sleeping or street based lifestyles access the support they need. You'll be part of a passionate, supportive team that believes in empowering people to make sustainable, positive changes in their lives.

Your new role
As an Outreach Worker, you'll play a key role in engaging individuals who are rough sleeping or spending significant time on the streets, helping them to access safer, more stable accommodation and services.

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

Proactively identifying and engaging with rough sleepers across a range of locations and shift patterns, including early mornings and evenings.
Providing assertive outreach to individuals who may be reluctant to engage, helping build trust and encouraging positive change.
Supporting clients to access accommodation, healthcare, substance misuse services, mental health support and wider community resources.
Working closely with multi‑agency partners including housing providers, hospitals, drug and alcohol services and local authorities.
Facilitating case conferences and contributing to the ongoing monitoring and analysis of rough sleeping across the area.
Maintaining accurate, confidential records in line with organisational and local authority requirements.
Participating in street counts, statistical reporting and wider team activities to help shape service delivery.

This is a flexible role that will involve working outside normal office hours and sometimes in challenging weather conditions, ensuring the team can reach people when they're most likely to need support.
What you'll need to succeed
You'll bring a strong understanding of the issues faced by people who are rough sleeping, begging or living with multiple and complex needs. You will also have:

Knowledge or experience in at least one of these areas: substance misuse, alcohol misuse, or mental health.
Experience working in partnership with statutory and voluntary services.
Excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills.
Confidence working both independently and as part of a team.
The resilience, patience and empathy to work with individuals who may initially be unwilling to engage.
Strong organisational and IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
An understanding of safeguarding for adults and children.

Experience of outreach work and/or homelessness is essential.

What you'll get in return
You'll be part of a values driven organisation that prioritises staff wellbeing, development and collaborative working. In return, you'll receive:

Ongoing training, supervision and professional development.
The opportunity to work autonomously while still being supported by an experienced team.
A role with real purpose - helping individuals build safer, healthier and more sustainable futures.
A varied working environment where no two days look the same.
