About Verto Living

Verto Living is a family‑run supported accommodation provider supporting vulnerable adults across Coventry. We work with individuals facing a range of challenges including homelessness, substance misuse, mental health difficulties, offending histories, and social exclusion.

We are passionate about helping people move from survival to stability and towards independence. Our team is committed to providing high‑quality accommodation, robust safeguarding, and person‑centred support that genuinely changes lives.

As our organisation continues to grow, we are looking for a dedicated Male Support Worker to join our team.

About the Role

This is a community‑based role supporting male residents across approximately five supported accommodation properties in Coventry.

You will work directly with residents to help them achieve their goals, maintain their accommodation, access services, improve their wellbeing, and progress towards greater independence.

You will manage a caseload of residents, providing regular one-to-one support, attending appointments, completing support plans and risk assessments, and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns.

The role is primarily Monday to Friday during office hours with no regular evening, weekend, or on‑call work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of residents across multiple supported accommodation properties.
  • Deliver regular one-to-one support sessions.
  • Develop, implement, and review support plans.
  • Complete risk assessments and contribute to risk management planning.
  • Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with company procedures.
  • Support residents to access healthcare, benefits, housing services, employment, education, and community resources.
  • Accompany residents to appointments where required.
  • Conduct welfare checks and property visits.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records using company systems.
  • Liaise with external agencies including social workers, probation services, healthcare professionals, housing providers, and community organisations.
  • Support residents to develop practical life skills including budgeting, tenancy management, cooking, and independent living skills.
  • Contribute to a positive, professional, and supportive environment across all services.
What We’re Looking For Essential
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Access to your own vehicle for work purposes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable people.
  • Comfortable working with high-risk individuals including those with offending histories, substance misuse issues, and complex support needs.
Desirable
  • Experience working within supported accommodation, housing support, homelessness services, mental health services, substance misuse services, criminal justice services, or similar environments.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and risk management.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
What We Offer
  • £14.00 per hour.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • £100 monthly fuel allowance.
  • Annual company-wide team building.
  • Monthly staff development afternoons.
  • Supportive family-run organisation.
  • Opportunity to help shape a growing service.
  • Birthday leave available (taken from annual leave entitlement if desired).
  • Friendly and supportive team environment.
Genuine Occupational Requirement

This position is restricted to male applicants under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 due to the nature of the role and the needs of the client group being supported.

Safeguarding

Verto Living is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults. All appointments will be subject to satisfactory references, right‑to‑work checks, and an Enhanced DBS check.
