Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Adult Safeguarding Team in West Kent, focusing on person-centred practice, safeguarding, and improving locality working. We work with adults with a range of care and support needs, placing individuals at the centre of their support.

The role involves working with varying levels of complexity, including Care Act Assessments, Mental Capacity Act (MCA) Assessments, Court of Protection applications and S42 safeguarding enquiries. We aim to build relationships with individuals, families and carers, engage communities early, and enable access to trusted local support from a range of sources.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake work of varying levels of complexity including Care Act Assessments, MCA Assessments, Court of Protection applications and S42 safeguarding enquiries.
  • Manage risk and complete safeguarding enquiries.
  • Contribute to the supervision and development of staff, including performance management.
  • Apply strengths-based practice, focusing on individuals’ desired outcomes and goals.
  • Collaborate with teams locally, work flexibly, and participate in a person-centred, community-facing approach.
About You / Qualifications
  • Experience of managing risk and completing safeguarding enquiries.
  • Ability to supervise and develop staff, including performance management.
  • Positive, forward-thinking attitude with strengths-based practice centred on outcomes and goals.
  • Full UK Driving License. The Council is committed to reasonable adjustments, but applications will be considered if you are unable to drive due to a disability.
  • Registered Social Worker with Social Work England and an Enhanced Disclosure.
  • We are seeking senior practitioners who are collaborative and able to work as part of a team.
