Salary: 17-18 Umbrella per hour

Contract:

Temporary to permanent

Hours:

37.5 per week - Monday to Sunday Shifts

The Role

We are recruiting for a compassionate and motivated Young Persons Support Worker to support vulnerable young people in developing the skills and confidence needed to live independently. You'll provide person-centred support, helping individuals sustain accommodation, access education, training and employment, and achieve positive outcomes. This role is based in Coventry and will require you to work on a shift pattern basis Monday through to Sunday.

Key Responsibilities as a Young Persons Support Worker

  • Complete support, risk and needs assessments and develop personalised support plans.
  • Deliver one-to-one and group support focused on independent living and life skills.
  • Support young people to access education, employment, training, benefits and healthcare.
  • Help sustain tenancies, manage rent, budgeting and household responsibilities.
  • Work alongside external agencies to provide coordinated support.
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in safeguarding and case reviews.
  • Respond effectively to crisis situations and challenging behaviour.
  • Assist with property inspections, health & safety checks and preparing accommodation where required.

About You

Essential:

  • Experience supporting vulnerable young people in housing, youth work, social care or a similar setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, housing and welfare legislation.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE).
  • Knowledge of mental health, substance misuse and homelessness.
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex needs.
