Relationships Coventry & Warwickshire are a charity passionate about providing counselling, mediation, specialist domestic abuse services, training and support for adults, children, young people and families.
The Role:
They are looking for an enthusiastic Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) / Community Worker
to support men that have experienced domestic abuse.
The IDVA / Community Worker will be a key role in an exciting new project, Anchor Point, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. You will provide a range of community-based support services for men who have experienced, or are currently experiencing domestic abuse, including those presenting with additional needs.
Person specification:
Relationships Coventry & Warwickshire are looking for someone with experience of supporting victims/survivors of domestic abuse, managing a caseload and understanding the principles of safeguarding children and adults. The post holder will have a good understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and how this can affect victims. This is a challenging role that requires empathy, compassion, excellent interpersonal and caseload management skills, a client-centred approach and proactive crisis intervention.
Requirements:
IDVA Qualified OR at least 2 years’ experience working as a Domestic Abuse Advocate.
Training can be provided to achieve the full IDVA qualification.
The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
