Job Description

My client is looking for a Vehicle Controls Engineer to contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of vehicle control systems.

Key Responsibilities

You will be involved in the development and integration of vehicle control software and electronic control systems, including:

  • Developing and maintaining Simulink vehicle control models and supporting ECU migration activities
  • Programming and configuring vehicle control systems using Curtis VCL
  • Diagnosing vehicle faults and implementing effective fault-handling strategies
  • Designing, implementing, and troubleshooting vehicle communication systems
  • Working with electronic controller tool chains, including dSPACE Micro Auto Box  platforms
  • Supporting system testing, validation, and problem resolution activities
  • Managing software releases, configuration control, and version management processes
  • Developing and analysing models using MATLAB and Simulink
  • Contributing to autonomous vehicle control strategies and system architecture
  • Supporting the development of electric vehicle drive systems and control solutions
  • Applying Design for Safety principles throughout the product lifecycle
Tools & Technologies Experience

With some or all of the following is desirable:

  • MATLAB
  • Simulink
  • Vector development tools
  • New Eagle Raptor development tools
  • dSPACE tool chains
  • Vehicle communication networks and control systems
Experience Required
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable Experience
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems and vehicle architectures.
  • Experience developing control systems for electric vehicles.
  • Exposure to autonomous vehicle technologies and advanced mobility solutions.
  • Understanding of software release processes and configuration management.
