Duration: This position is offered on an indefinite contract basis, tied to external research funding across a portfolio of clinical trials. Current funding is confirmed until 31 December 2027. Funding beyond this date is uncertain.
Warwick Clinical Trials Unit (Warwick CTU) undertakes clinical trials addressing local, national and international challenges. The unit focuses on musculoskeletal rehabilitation, orthopaedics, emergency care, critical care and cancer.
About YouWarwick Clinical Trials Unit (WCTU) seeks an experienced Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Software Engineer to lead QA activities within the Programming Team. You will shape and drive quality standards across a portfolio of in‑house developed clinical trial systems, ensuring reliability, performance and regulatory compliance.
In this role you will: design and execute manual and automated testing across multiple products; own and evolve QA infrastructure, supporting CI/CD and automated testing throughout the development lifecycle; contribute to sprint planning and align testing with frequent releases; support developers, application support analysts and trial teams in establishing robust QA practices; coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT); enhance data quality testing infrastructure to guarantee integrity, accuracy and traceability of clinical trial data.
You will also champion a culture of software quality, refine QA processes and standards in line with SOPs and regulatory requirements, and promote modern security principles.
We look for a candidate with strong expertise across several testing practices, including automation, and a solid understanding of QA methodologies and Dev Ops principles. The ideal candidate is confident working in agile teams, comfortable with modern tooling and frameworks, and can influence best practice across the team. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders are essential.
