Class 1 HGV Driver

Job Description

Major recruitment is currently recruiting for a Class 1 Driver to join our well‑established client based in Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a well‑known company within the logistics and transportation industry.

• Monday to Friday
• Start time between 17:00‑22:00
• Paying £18 PH guaranteed 8 hours per day
• Drops/Collections or Trailer Swaps
• Weekly pay
• Immediate start
• Training provided
• Accrued holiday weekly while on agency

• Operate and drive Category C+E vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections.
• Ensure timely, safe and professional deliveries to customer sites.
• Know driving/working hours regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers.
• Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management.
• Keep the truck and equipment clean and tidy.

• Hold a licence for a minimum of 12 months.
• Have at least 12 months experience in HGV driving.
• No more than 6 penalty points and no major endorsement codes.
• Be able to speak and read a competent level of English.
• Show punctuality and excellent time‑keeping skills.
• Have effective communication skills.
• Flexibility and availability to work overtime as required.
• Be able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.

• Experience driving any commercial vehicles would be beneficial.

• Industry related training and ongoing support throughout.
