Job OverviewMalco Construction Inc is seeking a results-driven Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee on-site operations and ensure successful delivery of commercial construction projects. This full-time leadership role is ideal for an experienced field manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values safety and precision, and can coordinate subcontractors and schedules with confidence. Key Responsibilities- Field Leadership and Coordination
- Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities from start to finish
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and inspectors
- Direct daily field operations and enforce site logistics plans
- Lead daily and weekly meetings with trade partners and site personnel
- Safety Management
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards
- Conduct daily safety walks, toolbox talks, and verify jobsite compliance
- Identify and resolve unsafe behaviors or site conditions proactively
- Schedule Management
- Maintain and update project schedule, including weekly look-ahead plans
- Ensure critical path activities are tracked and executed on time
- Communicate impacts, delays, or risks to the project manager promptly
- Quality Assurance
- Inspect ongoing work for conformance to plans, specifications, and standards
- Coordinate third-party testing, inspections, and QA documentation
- Manage punch list process and ensure timely closeout
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain detailed daily logs with labor, weather, activities, and delays
- Submit field reports and progress photos
- Review subcontractor reports and timesheets
- Contribute information for Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings
- Act as the primary on-site representative for clients, architects, and engineers
- Resolve trade conflicts and logistical challenges
- Implement field solutions to overcome unforeseen conditions or delays
- 5–10 years of experience as a superintendent on commercial projects
- Solid understanding of sequencing, scheduling, and construction drawings
- Experience managing jobsite operations with multiple trades
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and jobsite safety enforcement
- Proficiency with Knowify, Bluebeam, Plan Grid, or comparable software
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
- Able to stand, walk, and navigate construction sites for extended periods
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Comfortable climbing ladders and working on uneven terrain
Full‑Time – Monday through Friday
Hours:
Typical 8–10 hour shifts, depending on project needs
On‑site presence required at active construction locations
Work LocationCovington, GA and surrounding project sites
Minimal travel outside region unless project needs require>
Compensation and Benefits- Base Salary: $90,000–$105,000 annually
