Special Education Teacher – Covington, GA
The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The teacher commits to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation with general education staff.
Base Pay RangeAmergis Healthcare Staffing: $1,687.00‑$1,687.00 per month. Actual pay will be based on skills and experience; discuss details with your recruiter.
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
- Valid state teaching certificate, as required by state and contracting regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in a teaching environment (preferred)
- Standard Elementary Teaching certification (preferred)
- Standard Secondary Teaching certification (preferred)
- Standard Special Teaching certification (preferred)
- Endorsement:
Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) (preferred) - Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x‑ray (if applicable)
- Current health certificate (as per contract or state regulation)
- Meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
