Base pay range$50.00/hr - $55.00/hr
Step into Industrial AutomationJoin us as a Junior Industrial Automation Controls Engineer and learn shoulder-to-shoulder with seasoned engineers. Your days will span from drafting and refining electrical schematics in EPLAN or AutoCAD to writing and testing PLC code that brings machines to life. You’ll collaborate with mechanical and electrical teammates, support CNC equipment installs, and help validate that every control loop behaves exactly as designed.
Aday in the role
- Morning:
Review project requirements and translate them into initial control concepts and schematics. - Midday:
Configure PLCs and HMIs, develop ladder logic or structured text, and run bench tests to verify functionality. - Afternoon:
Team with mechanical and electrical peers to integrate hardware, troubleshoot automation equipment, and document test results and design updates. - Occasional site time:
Support on-site commissioning or issue resolution with minimal travel when needed.
- Assist in designing and developing control systems aligned to project specifications.
- Support senior engineers in defining control architectures and technical documentation.
- Participate in PLC/HMI programming, configuration, and system validation.
- Contribute to testing plans, execution, and results reporting.
- Collaborate across disciplines—mechanical, electrical, and project management—to deliver reliable automation.
- Create and maintain design specs, test records, and project status updates.
- Grounding in control system fundamentals and engineering principles.
- Hands-on ability with common PLC languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text).
- Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting mindset.
- Clear communication and a team-first approach.
- Curiosity and adaptability to master new tools and methods.
- Exceptional command of schematic design tools such as EPLAN Electrical and AutoCAD.
- Work location:
Onsite at our facility; this is not a remote role. Minimal jobsite travel as needed.
- PLC troubleshooting and programming experience
- Reading and producing electrical schematics
- Diagnosing issues in industrial automation equipment
- Knowledge of 120/208/240/480 VAC power and high-voltage systems
- Electrical and electronic system fundamentals
- Electrical installation practices and safety
- Industrial robot programming exposure
- CNC machine installation support
