Pay & Benefits
  • Hourly Pay: $25.73 – $37.06 (annualized $52,000 – $77,000)
  • Profit‑Sharing Bonus:
    Semi‑annual, performance‑based (10%–20% of salary)

Field Technician III

We are seeking a dependable Field Technician III to join Ampirical. This role is part of our Cappstone Energy Group team, which focuses on delivering specialized field services that support the safe and reliable operation of utility infrastructure. The Field Technician III is a senior‑level field position responsible for performing advanced inspections, safety audits, and asset management fieldwork. The Field Technician III supports complex projects including GPS mapping, underground inspections, and system‑wide data integrity initiatives.

The Field Technician III ensures all field work is performed safely, accurately, and in accordance with company and regulatory standards, while providing mentorship and guidance to junior field technicians.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct field safety audits using the company’s standardized pole attachment review and inspection methods to ensure compliance with NESC and company standards.
  • Perform advanced GPS and electric distribution asset management field work, collecting detailed location and equipment data for system mapping and inventory purposes.
  • Complete underground inspections, verifying conduit, vault, and transformer conditions and ensuring safety compliance.
  • Identify and document field safety hazards, clearance issues, or equipment deficiencies, escalating as necessary.
  • Support large‑scale data validation and field verification projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure field data accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide training and on‑the‑job mentorship for Field Technicians I and II.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts to enhance field data quality and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all work follows company safety policies, regulatory guidelines, and project specifications.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 4+ years of experience in electric utility field work, inspection, or related field.
  • Advanced understanding of NESC requirements, electric distribution systems, and safety practices.
  • Experience with GPS mapping, asset management, or field data collection technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work in diverse outdoor conditions.
  • Highly skilled field professional with strong technical judgment.
  • Leadership‑oriented with mentoring capability.
  • Thorough, safety‑minded, and detail‑focused.
  • Adaptable and dependable under varied field conditions.
