We are seeking a skilled Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to support plant operations through the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems. This role is critical to ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations.
The E&I Technician will work closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams to minimize downtime, support continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain high standards of safety and performance.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, instrumentation, and control devices used in production and utilities
- Troubleshoot and repair motors, drives, control panels, PLC I/O, sensors, transmitters, and variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Calibrate and maintain process instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters
- Assist with installation, startup, and commissioning of new equipment and system modifications
- Support PLC and control system upgrades in collaboration with Engineering and Automation teams
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and loop drawings
- Ensure all work complies with electrical codes, safety standards, and internal procedures
- Participate in root cause analysis of electrical and instrumentation failures and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and update documentation as required
- Provide technical support during shutdowns, startups, and emergency repairs
- 3–5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment working with electrical and instrumentation systems
- Hands‑on experience with 480V and below electrical systems, industrial automation, and process instrumentation
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC, and OSHA electrical safety standards
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-based control systems (Allen‑Bradley preferred)
- Troubleshooting and maintenance of:
- AC/DC motors, drives, and control circuits
- PLC I/O systems and basic ladder logic
- Relay logic, contractors, and control relays
- Familiarity with industrial communication networks (Ether Net/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.)
- Proficiency using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, calibrators, oscilloscopes, and process simulators
- Working knowledge of SCADA systems and HMIs
- Strong understanding of lockout/tagout procedures, arc flash protection, and electrical isolation
- Ability to work in industrial environments, including elevated areas and confined spaces
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform hands‑on maintenance tasks
- Availability for on‑call support, weekend work, or shift coverage as required
