Position: Maintenance Technician(Electrical)
Overview

Summary:

A Maintenance Technician (Maintenance Mechanic, Electrician) is in charge of performing ongoing equipment maintenance and completing repairs on equipment. Their duties include fixing machinery, wiring, inspecting equipment to confirm safety standards and scheduling major repairs with the equipment’s inhabitants.

Duties and Responsibilities

A Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping equipment operating and repairing any problems when discovered before they worsen. In addition, they report to the maintenance team manager. A Maintenance Technician typically performs a wide range of repair tasks around equipment. Some other tasks may include:

  • Setting up annual, quarterly, monthly Preventive Maintenance schedules, implementing the schedule, and creating back-up plans in case of discrepancies when carrying out the plan.
  • Monitoring the progress of the preventive maintenance plan and updating the progress in the ERP.
  • Checking the condition of equipment and performing work to maintain a stable condition.
  • Preparing and managing spare materials and tools for stable maintenance of equipment.
  • Identifying broken parts or damaged wiring and performing replacement operations.
  • Performing work on equipment failures and proactively inspecting equipment to prevent failures.
  • Taking measures to prevent recurrence of equipment failures.
  • Planning and executing preventive maintenance of the equipment.
  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, nights, and potential overtime.
  • Creating and managing comprehensive documentation for equipment, including standards, procedures, detailed SOPs, and user manuals.
  • Analyzing equipment breakdowns to identify underlying causes.
  • Analyzing equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Providing training and coaching to technician personnel.
Required Qualifications

A Maintenance Technician requires a diverse mix of both hard and soft skills, particularly manual labor skills, including:

  • Two years of college or technical school (preferred, but not required).
  • More than one year of experience in the semiconductor field (preferred, but not required).
  • Experience in maintaining and setting up semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment for electronic components and automotive electronics.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing process.
  • Able to cope with pressure and be a team player.
  • Able to work irregular or extended hours, including weekends and nights as needed.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds without restriction.
  • Able to stand and be on feet for up to 12 hours.
  • Must be safety- and quality-conscious.
  • Goal- and customer-oriented.
  • Must have the ability to work with small quantities of chemicals and in a wet lab environment (applicable to specific job function).
  • Skilled as a trainer/mentor/coach with focus on individual and team growth.
  • Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs, or other drainage problems.
  • Electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the equipment’s electricity.
  • Ability to handle basic repairs around the equipment.
  • Ability to maintain clean room equipment.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with employees or residents of the building in a pleasant manner.
  • Attention to detail to ensure that all tasks are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs are not overlooked.
  • Physical stamina to handle a full shift of active work in the building.
  • Experience with PLC/HMI and C programming.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, use CAD software, and interpret parameters.
  • Proficiency in MS Office for creating and managing equipment standards, procedures, SOPs, and manuals.
