Manager Public Safety

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Manages assigned personnel and coordinates the activity of assigned personnel in order to provide effective security services to PHC. Enforces all PHC regulations, and applicable state and federal laws.
• Supports all security functions to maintain a safe and secure environment. Responsible for the safe de-escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment in the engagement with combative or escalating subjects.
• Advocates crime prevention and a secure work environment through observation, interaction, and intervention.
• Works as part of the System Public Safety Leadership Team in support of the System Director of Public Safety as well as the local entity Executive Leader.

MINIMUM

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

High School Diploma or GED

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

Five (5) years general security, military or other public safety experience with three (3) years? experience in supervision/leadership roles required.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

None

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• ? BS/ BA in healthcare management/ business administration, criminal justice, or other related fields preferred
• ? Required to pass psychological screening during pre-employment screening.
• ? Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (IAHSS) preferred
• ? Active Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification preferred
• ? May be required to carry less lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or an expandable baton required
• ? May be required to carry company approved firearm
• ? To carry a lethal or less-lethal weapons the Manager must pass and maintain all training requirements
