Job Description & How to Apply Below

Guy M. Turner is seeking an experienced, hands-on Rigging Foreman to lead crews performing heavy rigging, lifting, moving, and setting large electrical transformers and related equipment for electric power companies.

This is an outdoor, field-based position working primarily at electrical substations and other utility project sites. We are looking for a working foreman who can lead a crew while actively participating in rigging operations.

*** This is not an industrial plant machinery-moving position***

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and work alongside rigging crews on outdoor utility transformer projects.
  • Direct the unloading, lifting, moving, positioning, and setting of large electrical transformers.
  • Coordinate rigging equipment, hydraulic jacks, and other specialized lifting equipment.
  • Lead crews during transformer removal, replacement, and installation projects.
  • Work with power company representatives, crane operators, and transportation crews to coordinate job-site activities.
  • Review lift plans, determine rigging requirements, and ensure equipment is handled safely.
  • Inspect rigging gear, lifting equipment, and job-site conditions before beginning work.
  • Assign daily responsibilities and provide hands‑on direction to crew members.
  • Complete basic job paperwork and communicate project progress.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel to utility project sites as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience as a Rigging Foreman, Heavy Rigging Crew Leader, or similar field supervisory position.
  • Experience lifting, moving, and setting large transformers or other oversized heavy equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic jacks, rigging gear, lifting procedures, and heavy equipment positioning.
  • Experience supervising field crews and working hands‑on alongside employees.
  • Ability to understand lift plans and follow established safety procedures.
  • Experience working at electrical substations or electric utility project sites is a strong plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to work outdoors, travel to job sites, and work overtime or weekends when necessary.
What We’re Looking For
  • We want a working foreman, not someone who only supervises from the sidelines.
  • The ideal candidate has experience leading outdoor heavy rigging projects, understands how to safely handle large transformers and oversized equipment, and can coordinate effectively with electric utility customers and crane crews.
Why Join Guy M. Turner?
  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Excellent benefits package
  • Established, respected company in the crane, rigging, and heavy transportation industry
  • Modern equipment and specialized rigging resources
  • Long‑term career opportunities
