Overview

St. Elizabeth Physicians is seeking a skilled and compassionate Recovery Therapist to join our team. This role focuses on serving individuals with a substance use disorder. The ideal candidate will hold independent licensure in the state of Kentucky and possess a strong background in therapeutic approaches for substance use disorder.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions through a trauma-competent lens to address substance use disorders and promote recovery.
  • Enhance motivation for change, evoking change while honoring the autonomy of the individual served.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients  needs and progress throughout their recovery journey.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of therapy and develop individual treatment plans, adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Understand the disease model with particular appreciation for addiction medicine as one pathway to recovery.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Meet patient care expectations for the position.
Qualifications
  • Master s degree in counseling, social work, or a related field.
  • Independent licensure in Kentucky as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPCC), or equivalent.
  • Experience in addiction medicine, therapeutic counseling, or mental health services is preferred.
  • Must have 80 hours of continuing education related to substance use disorders within four years of starting with the organization or obtain within two years of hire date.
  • Expertise in evidence-based therapy methods, including CBT, DBT, or trauma-informed care.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills to foster trust with patients.
