Job Purpose and Summary

Responsibilities
  • Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help our Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, and drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care: creating heartfelt moments while serving patients at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and over the phone; offering immunizations and other services at the register and by phone; and solving or escalating patient problems.
  • Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law and directed by the pharmacy leadership team, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, waiting bin inventories, etc.
  • Actively seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge needed to better assist patients.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntary travel to stores in the market as required.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; comply with CVS policies and procedures to ensure patient safety, record‑keeping, and privacy.
  • Deliver additional patient health‑care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and voluntary off‑site clinic staffing) where allowed by law and supported by required training and certification.
Immunization Support (where permissible)
  • Complete additional licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status for vaccine preparation and administration.
  • Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer to the Pharmacist‑on‑duty for vaccination questions.
  • Monitor and respond to adverse reactions; report adverse reaction events per public health requirements.
  • Review and collect patient information; track and document for each applicable patient.
  • Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
Required Qualifications
  • Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
  • Minimum age 16 if no state requirement; high school diploma or equivalent or active enrollment if no education requirement.
  • State‑level licensure and national certification vary by state.
Essential Functions
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.
  • Attention and focus to concentrate, pivot tasks, confirm prescription information, and ensure patient safety.
  • Customer service and team orientation: actively help others, understand patient reactions, and respond appropriately.
  • Communication skills: verbal and written; active listening; clarity.
  • Mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations.
  • Problem resolution: choose best action among options.
  • Physical demands: mobility, lifting, reaching, repeated finger use, precision, strength up to 20 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1‑3 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer‑service setting.
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations.
Anticipated Weekly Hours

20 hours per week (part‑time).

Pay Range

Base hourly rate: $16.00 – $16.00.
