Braxton Brewing Company is seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is critical to maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our brewing operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with technical brewing equipment, demonstrate exceptional reliability and punctuality, and possess the ability to anticipate and prevent maintenance issues before they impact production. This role requires a balance of independent initiative for planned maintenance and collaborative teamwork for day‑to‑day operational challenges.

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on all brewing equipment including brewhouses, fermentation vessels, packaging lines, refrigeration systems, and ancillary equipment
• Develop and execute comprehensive planned maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime and maximize operational efficiency
• Proactively identify potential equipment issues and implement corrective actions before failures occur
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on brewing equipment
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and urgent repair needs to minimize production interruptions
• Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment documentation
• Communicate effectively with production staff, management, and team members regarding maintenance activities, equipment status, and safety concerns
• Collaborate with external vendors and service technicians when specialized repairs or installations are required
• Maintain organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency

• Minimum 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience maintaining and repairing technical brewing equipment or similar industrial machinery
• Strong mechanical aptitude with proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment systems
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, motors, pumps, valves, and control systems
• Experience with welding, fabrication, and piping systems preferred
• Demonstrated reliability with excellent attendance record and punctuality
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing operational needs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for documentation and team coordination
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also functioning effectively as part of a team
• Willingness to take direction and follow established protocols and procedures
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and on‑call availability as needed
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

• Technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, or related field
• Direct experience in craft brewing or beverage production environment
• Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation requirements in beverage production
• Forklift certification

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
• Comfortable working at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
• Able to work in variable environmental conditions including cold refrigeration areas and warm production spaces
• Capable of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods
  
  Ability to work in confined spaces when necessary
