The Ion Center For Violence Prevention is a non‑profit agency serving 13 Kentucky counties. The Ion Center’s mission is to provide the best care for people impacted by power‑based personal violence and to reduce harm through free and confidential services.
Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the Crisis Response Coordinator, the Crisis Response Specialist provides crisis intervention services to primary and secondary survivors of crime, with a special focus on victims of partner violence, sexual violence, and stalking, on location in community hospitals in Northern Kentucky.

Qualifications- Knowledge and skills at a level typically acquired through obtaining a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Knowledge of Trauma‑Informed Care.
- Ability to work under highly stressful, crisis‑oriented situations.
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Outstanding empathetic and listening skills.
- Professional oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate on a team.
- Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Complete trainings for funding requirements and knowledge building.
- Must be a minimum age of 18.
- Speaking, seeing, hearing, standing, writing, walking, including climbing steps, carrying, pulling, lifting, stooping, kneeling.
- Using related office equipment: keyboard and monitor, camera, copier, fax, phones, etc.
- This position may involve exposure to infectious diseases and stressful situations.
This is an hourly position that pays $10.00/hour when waiting to respond to calls and $20.00/hour when actively responding to calls. Weekday, weekend, and overnight shifts are available. The Ion Center responds to hospitals in Northern Kentucky:
St. Elizabeth Hospitals in Florence, Edgewood, Covington, and Ft. Thomas, and Carroll County Memorial. Applicants must have reliable transportation.
