Manipulates computerized tomographical radiological equipment, using knowledge of positioning patients and general anatomy and physiology as well as the ability for processing these images. Responsible for the tracking of each study and the PACS acquisition of the study performed. Properly uses radiation protection devices, selects technical factors necessary to produce optimum quality computerized radiographic images; processes those images and performs a variety of other duties consistent with providing quality computerized tomographical services.

• Must be a graduate of an accredited radiology technology program.
• One (1) year’s experience in a CT department with multi‑slice technology is preferred.
• Registered in Radiology (A.R.R.T.) and state‑licensed in radiology by the LSRT.
• CT registration required within one (1) year of hire.
• Current BLS certification through an ILCOR‑approved course (e.g., Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross) with a manikin check‑off.
• Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment with patients of all types and ages.
• Must possess strong guest‑relations skills.

Must possess good physical health. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time and work with a moderate level of noise.

Physical effort:
Constant (67%–100%): lifting, hearing, seeing;
Frequently (34%–66%): carrying, pushing/pulling, handling/feeling, talking;
Occasionally (1%–33%): climbing (stairs, ladders), balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching.
