Manipulates ultrasound equipment, using knowledge of positioning patients and general anatomy and physiology as well as the ability for processing these images. Must be proficient in OB, GYN, Abdominal, vascular and small body parts. Must be registry eligible for the same. Responsible for the tracking of each study and the PACS acquisition of the study performed. Selects technical factors necessary to produce optimum quality ultrasound images;
surveys with measurements of anatomical body part, processes those images and performs a variety of other duties consistent with providing quality ultrasound services.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited ultrasound technology program, or have 10 years of ultrasound experience.
- Must be registered or registry eligible for one of the following: ultrasound physics, OB/GYN, abdomen, vascular and small body parts.
- Must be ARDMS registry eligible with completion of one registration within 1 year from date of hire. Vascular registration is preferred in addition to the above mentioned registries.
- Current BLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to:
Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off. - Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with patients of all types and ages.
- Must possess strong guest relations skills.
- One Year Experience Preferred.
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
Physical Effort required:
- Constant (67%-100%) – lifting, reaching, hearing, seeing
- Frequently (34%-66%) – carrying, pushing/pulling, handling/feeling, talking
- Occasionally (1%-33%) – climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling
