Director of Service Operations

A leading industrial equipment and aftermarket services organisation is seeking a Service Director to lead a large-scale service and maintenance operation across the United States.

This is a senior leadership position with full responsibility for driving service performance, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, profitability, and future growth across a nationwide field service organisation.

The successful candidate will lead a team of regional service leaders and functional managers, creating a high-performance culture focused on safety, customer experience, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Develop and execute the long-term service strategy.
• Drive growth across service revenue, maintenance agreements, and customer retention.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial performance.
• Contribute as a key member of the executive leadership team.

• Lead a geographically dispersed service organisation through regional leadership teams.
• Establish service standards, KPIs, and performance management processes.
• Drive continuous improvement, productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure safe, consistent, and high-quality service delivery nationwide.
• Improve planning, scheduling, dispatch, and resource utilisation through technology and process optimisation.

• Build strong relationships with key customers and strategic accounts.
• Support the development of new service offerings and recurring revenue streams.
• Act as an executive sponsor for major customer relationships and escalations.
• Partner with commercial teams to drive aftermarket growth.

• Coach and develop managers and future leaders.
• Build organisational capability and succession plans.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, ownership, and collaboration.
• Align teams around clear objectives and performance expectations.
