Mechanical Repair Technician

Amarillo Gear Company LLC, a global industrial organization under Marmon Holdings backed by Berkshire Hathaway, positions a Repair Technician to assemble gearboxes and component parts for refurbishment and assembly.

• Operate overhead crane and forklift.
• Use handheld power, handheld precision measuring and manual tools.
• Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble gearboxes/products.
• Working knowledge of mechanical components/assemblies to suggest improvements.
• Ability to work accurately, thoroughly and within time constraints while maintaining safety as a priority.
• Use thinking and reasoning to solve problems and develop new concepts.
• Lift and/or push up to 25 pounds, stand, bend, and squat with repetitive movements for 8 hours.
• High attention to detail and self‑motivation skills.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Education:
  
  High school diploma or GED.
• 3‑5 years of mechanical assembly experience, gearbox preferred.

• Work in a team environment to accomplish goals.
• Utilize handheld precision measuring tools such as micrometers and depth micrometers.
• Perform quality inspections to ensure the product meets quality standards.
• Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
• Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specifications.
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area per 5S practices.
