American Traveler is hiring an experienced Level III NICU RN for a night shift position requiring delivery attendance experience and at least 3 years of NICU nursing experience.
Requirements- Active LA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 3 years of NICU nursing experience required
- Prior delivery attendance experience required
- Travel experience required - no first time travelers
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in neonatal IV placement, lab draws, ventilator and central line management
- Experience with medication administration via multiple routes (IV, IM, SQ, ETT, OGT, NGT, oral, rectal, topical)
- Experience with blood product administration Responsibilities
- Level III NICU setting with patient ratios of 1:2-3
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15
- Self-scheduling with every other weekend obligation
- Holiday coverage required: at least 1 major and 1 minor holiday
- Float requirement to NOU (1:4-6 ratios) and normal newborn nursery
- Epic EMR experience required
- Attend high-risk vaginal and cesarean deliveries and assist with newborn transition
- Admit and discharge neonates in NICU and NOU settings
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary team including NNP, MD, RN, social services, RT, radiology, and OT
- Provide parent education and breastfeeding support
- Assist with procedures including chest tube insertion, PICC/UAC/UVC placement, intubation, and exchange transfusions
- Perform CBG and ABG draws, and assist with x-rays, ultrasounds, echocardiograms, and EEGs
- Administer nitric oxide and manage oxygen delivery systems
- Purple/grape scrub color required
- Candidates living within 75 miles are considered local and eligible at the local rate
- Previous LCMC facility permanent employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible for travel assignment Benefits
