Manager, Growth Projects

- Provides leadership to a project construction team responsible for the construction of BWP growth expansion projects, including pipelines, compressor stations, and underground storage and liquid handling facilities.
- Works collaboratively with the Field Engineering and Construction Group, Houston Engineering and Project Management Group, Environmental, Land, Safety and Security, Field Operations, Technical Services and other departments across BWP in scoping, planning, constructing, and maintaining a safe and efficient pipeline system and related facilities in compliance with all Company, PHMSA, regulatory, and professional requirements while meeting safety, budget, schedule and completion documentation targets.
- Communicates with all internal and external customers to understand requirements and ensures their needs are met efficiently and cost‑effectively. Collaborates with BWP Field Operations leadership to support operational activities as requested.
- Provides an active field presence during the construction phase to assess and drive excellence in the quality and schedule of third‑party inspections, contractor work, and reporting; troubleshoots complex problems and provides real‑time project feedback and look‑ahead strategies to Project Management.
- Ensures oversight and management of third‑party vendors, including cost management and discrepancy negotiations.
- Ensures timely project completion documentation and as‑built deliverables.
- Participates in planning and constructability reviews at various stages of project development and design.
- Collaborates with Project Management during execution on scoping, estimating, schedule, quality assurance, RFIs, Change Orders, and other key issues to assure safe, timely and cost‑effective execution.
- Ensures compliance with BWP construction specifications, contract policies, OSH, safety expectations, and environmental, land, safety and security requirements throughout construction.
- Must live within 45 minutes of a BWP facility; extensive travel across the BWP system required, often 6–7 days at a time.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction of major growth projects (pipeline, compression, liquid facilities and storage).
- Progressive thinker who can drive a culture with a willingness to search out and embrace technology improvements.
- Strong oral/written communication, administrative/organizational, and analytical problem‑solving skills.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to personal and team safety.
- Ability to drive change and improve processes, and to seek means to improve their team.
- Strong knowledge of industry regulatory codes, standards, and requirements.
- Proficient in computer applications including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other office applications.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities and assignments while working in a high‑stress environment.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal direct supervision, self‑motivation.
