Environmental, Health & Safety, and Human Resources Manager

Join our team as the Environmental, Health & Safety, and Human Resources Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in fostering a safe, sustainable, and people‑focused workplace.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee development of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA.
  • Function as the primary Health & Safety resource; conduct new employee orientation, ongoing refresher training, and certify employee and facility documentation.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections, identify hazards, and collaborate with plant managers, supervisors, and employees to mitigate identified risks.
  • Implement and administer the H&S programs such as GHS compliance, visitor and contractor safety, confined space entry, hot work, LO/TO, safety committees, and suggestion programs.
  • Lead incident investigations, assist with reporting requirements, and coordinate with the company employer medical provider and workers’s compensation program.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for OSHA inquiries and investigations.
  • Oversee execution of human resources policies and programs covering recruitment, onboarding, career development, employee relations, compensation, and benefits planning.
  • Ensure compliance with EEO, FMLA, and FLSA regulations; assist line managers in applying HR programs to departmental operations.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans; conduct regular drills and training sessions.
  • Manage workers’s compensation claims, collaborate with insurance providers, and serve as the main contact for regulatory agencies.
  • Recruit, onboard, retain a skilled workforce; manage employee benefits, payroll, and performance management systems.
  • Foster a culture of safety and employee well‑being through communication, engagement initiatives, and collaboration with department leaders to address employee relations issues.
  • Monitor and report on EHS and HR performance metrics, identify improvement areas, and stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS and HR management roles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to environmental health and safety.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, policies, and labor laws.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing EHS and HR policies and programs.
  • Certification in EHS (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) and HR (e.g., SHRM‑CP, PHR) preferred.
  • Proficient in risk assessment and management techniques.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, problem‑solving, decision‑making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience conducting training sessions and workshops.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency with EHS and HR software and tools.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for site inspections and audits.
