The Patient Access Technician (PAT) is an exciting opportunity at Multi Care, responsible for ensuring accurate patient admission and registration. This intermediate-level clerical position will allow you to apply your professional service-orientation, good judgment, and independent thinking in your daily work functions.

• You will assure complete and accurate patient admissions/registrations according to organization policy and procedures and regulatory requirements.
• You will obtain inpatient bed assignments and process inpatient admission, including arm banding, addressograph plate, and completion of necessary forms.
• You will pre‑admit all scheduled inpatient, outpatients and ambulatory patients to facilitate a smooth and speedy admission/registration process.
• You will obtain direct admit information and enter a reservation in the computer system in order to notify other areas.
• You will complete comprehensive bedside or telephone interviews with the patient, relative, or their representative to obtain pertinent demographic, insurance, and/or third‑party liability information.
• You will perform eligibility verification and resolve any discrepancies, determine the need for financial assistance recommendation and application, referring to the Financial Counselor where necessary.

• Graduate of a health vocational program such as Patient Access, Medical Assistance, Medical Billing & Insurance.

OR

• One (1) year of experience performing any combination of admitting, Health Unit Coordinator, patient registration, customer service or billing duties required; healthcare setting preferred.

As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $23.38 - $35.57 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.

If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
