AECOM is seeking a Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our established Sustainability & Decarbonisation Advisory team, part of our Building Engineering Business Line, which is recognised as a leader in sustainable development.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering Sustainability & Carbon services for major public and private sector clients, helping them to design and deliver low-carbon, resilient, and sustainable estates.
This role will span a wide range of sectors including healthcare, education and commercial, but most specifically UK Defence & National Security.
Key Responsibilities With support from the wider team, you will be responsible for:
Supporting clients to develop and understand their sustainability & decarbonisation requirements.
Developing, delivering, and reviewing whole life carbon reduction strategies for a variety of scoping mechanisms (e.g., Greater London Authority, LETI & RIBA, RICS, BREEAM etc.).Liaising directly with clients and designers to develop sustainability & decarbonisation strategies at the outset, implementing these from early design through to construction.
Delivery of assessment certification schemes such as BREEAM and DREAM. LEED and/or WELL experience is advantageous.
Delivery of sustainability appraisals such as SAW and SEEAM.Supporting project management and programming.
Supporting work winning through the bidding process incl. tender responses.
Mentoring of junior staff where suitable to help upskilling.
Qualifications Requirements:
Good knowledge of the building design and construction process.
Experience of undertaking WLCAs using One Click LCA, assessment certification schemes especially BREEAM and DREAM, and sustainability appraisals.
Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and apply it to practical sustainability solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical information.
High attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving.
