Job Description & How to Apply Below
About the role
Are you passionate about designing systems that bridge the gap between software and the physical world? Join our clients growing engineering team to develop bespoke embedded monitoring and control solutions using industrial control hardware, single-board computers, and advanced sensing technologies.
You will work on challenging, high-impact projects involving strain gauges, vibration monitoring, temperature sensing, and data acquisition systems-helping customers gain critical insights into the performance and condition of real-world engineering assets.
What You'll Do
Design and Build:
Develop and test custom monitoring and control solutions utilizing industrial controllers, embedded Linux platforms, and cutting-edge hardware.
Engineer Reliable Systems:
Build robust, reusable software, hardware, and monitoring components using industry best practices for long-term maintainability.
Integrate and Deliver:
Collaborate closely with mechanical and electrical engineers, project managers, and external partners to seamlessly integrate sensors, instrumentation, and control architectures into real-world deployments.
Explore and Improve:
Investigate emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to continuously enhance our product offerings and engineering capabilities.
What We're Looking For
Technical Expertise:
Proven experience developing embedded, industrial automation, instrumentation, or IoT systems in a commercial or research setting. Key programming familiarity in C/C++, Python, Delphi, and industrial automation development software (such as TIA Portal with Ladder Logic or SCL).
Instrumentation & Integration:
Experience integrating physical sensors, data acquisition hardware, and industrial equipment. Familiarity with standard networking protocols like serial communications, TCP/IP, Modbus, or MQTT is a strong advantage.
Problem Solver:
Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities, combined with a practical, hands-on approach to tackling engineering challenges.
Multidisciplinary Mindset:
Comfortable navigating software, electronics, and instrumentation, with a natural curiosity for how systems behave in demanding physical environments.
Your Background
Experience of embedded systems design and full lifecycle delivery experience (experience with industrial automation controllers is highly preferred).
Demonstrated success in analyzing and troubleshooting complex embedded control and monitoring systems.
A degree (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline is desirable, though relevant practical experience is equally valued.
Why Join?
Real Engineering Impact:
Build systems that monitor critical infrastructure and industrial assets relied upon by customers across the globe.
Varied Technology Stack:
Work hands-on with embedded Linux, industrial controllers, cloud-connected devices, and advanced sensing hardware.
End-to-End Ownership:
Take charge of projects from initial concept and rapid prototyping through testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
Collaborative Culture:
Thrive in a supportive, innovative environment that champions continuous learning and creative problem-solving
