Job Description
Provide exceptional customer service to help people live healthier lives by treating customers and employees fairly and ethically, ensuring a safe, clean, inclusive environment, acting responsibly in the community, delivering the right products, services, and care at the right time with accurate pricing. Provide direct patient intervention with health and wellness services and experiences permissible under state and federal laws. Responsibilities- Comply with local, state, and federal regulations; report all illegal activity.
- Follow food safety, sanitation and safety regulations and identify unsafe conditions.
- Understand and perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers.
- Follow company guidelines on computerized inventory management, control, and ordering of all medications, devices, supplements and supplies.
- Maintain departmental standards including cleanliness and organization of work stations and customer waiting areas.
- Count, measure and prepare specified products using company best practices.
- Complete billing procedures appropriately to assure best value.
- Answer phone, triage calls and inquiries.
- Adhere to guidelines on accepting vendor coupons, limits on cash shortages and shrink guidelines.
- Operate cash register and follow cashier handling policies, including electronic transactions.
- Provide a stellar customer experience while completing all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and dispensing.
- Assist pharmacist in all responsibilities except those requiring professional judgment.
- Understand and comply with HIPAA regulations and company policies.
- Support company health and wellness initiatives.
- Put away legend orders, including Central Fill deliveries.
- Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
- Support minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be 18 years old.
- Ability to handle highly confidential information.
- Meets minimum state requirements to perform the functions related to the position.
Desired
- Previous comparable experience.
- Equivalent experience as a pharmacy clerk.
- EPRN familiarity.
