RCT Council is preparing to recruit to its Graduate Programme, offering fantastic opportunities to work in a vibrant environment, learn new and transferable skills, meet people from a range of backgrounds and develop a professional career in Rhondda Cynon Taf. All Graduate Officers will be supported to complete either a Level 4 Project Management qualification or job-related technical training (all fully funded) as part of the programme.

The administration of the Council's accounts is essential to ensuring that public and staff services continue to run smoothly. Our Finance Service plays a critical role in supporting the Council's priorities, and our Business Plan sets out how we deliver high-quality, robust financial management across the organisation. Within the service, you'll find a broad range of financial activities from financial planning and management accounting to financial reporting, data analysis and the preparation of statutory accounts.
As part of this dynamic and high-performing team, you'll gain exposure to varied work that supports the effective management of the Council's resources.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-focused Graduate Officer to join our Finance Service. You will have a keen eye for accuracy, strong numerical skills and the ability to produce high-quality work. This is a busy role where you'll be expected to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively under pressure. You'll be highly organised, thrive in a fast-paced environment and be eager to develop your skills within a large public-sector finance team.
You will also demonstrate excellent communication skills, as you will be working closely with colleagues across the service and wider Council.
- A minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in:
- Finance
- Accounting
- Management Accounting
- Economics
- Or a closely related discipline.
- The content accurately represents your own experiences and qualifications
- You can clearly and confidently explain all aspects of your submission
- Your unique perspective comes through clearly
