Brand Partnerships Manager; Freelance – Podcast Festival

Cheerful Earful started in 2022 as a scrappy 4-day podcast festival in a handful of South London pubs. It’s grown (a lot).

We’re now a 15-day international celebration of funny podcasts across London, Melbourne, and New York, with hundreds of live shows and thousands of fans. Earlier this year, we launched a spin-off - The Golden Lobes - a podcaster-first awards night that celebrated the funniest voices in audio with style, silliness, and very little beige catering.

Despite the international scope, we’re still proudly grassroots. The whole thing is independently run and an amazing crew of freelancers who help pull it off with love, humour and hustle.

Now, we’re ready to bring in a freelance partnerships/sponsorship pro to help us scale smartly - someone with creative ideas and solid brand contacts who can sell in the right kind of deals to the right kind of brands.

You might be right if you:

• Have strong contacts at brands or agencies that like doing things a bit differently
• Can pitch creatively - not just logos and PDFs
• Have closed deals with fun, culture-forward brands (DTC, drinks, lifestyle, tech etc.)
• Actually like podcasts or comedy (or both)

What you’ll be selling:

• Sponsorship of the festival (campaign length May-October), the awards (Jan-May) or both!
• Creative brand activations that add to the vibe, not stick out
• Digital bits like content, social, email or podcast tie-ins
• Merch, special events, weird ideas that make sense - we’re open

The deal:

• Commission-only, 50% of every closed deal
• You work your own hours and leads
• No cap on earnings, and no pressure to be on calls at 9am unless you want to be

We’ve already worked with brands across podcasting and audio tech - now we’re looking to connect with the Minor Figures, Who Gives A Crap, Lucky Saints, Squarespaces, and Monzos of the world. Brands with personality, tone, and a bit of a sense of humour.
