This role offers the opportunity to join a forward-thinking College where student wellbeing, inclusion and personal development are central to creating a positive learning environment. As a Student Wellbeing Adviser at Wiltshire College & University Centre, you will provide high-quality, confidential wellbeing support to students, helping them manage personal, emotional and practical challenges that may affect their studies, attendance or wider college experience.

Working closely with students, curriculum teams, safeguarding colleagues and external support services, you will offer advice, guidance and early intervention, helping students access the right support at the right time. You will build positive relationships, promote wellbeing across the college and contribute to an environment where every student feels listened to, supported and able to achieve their potential.

What Youll Do Provide one-to-one wellbeing advice, guidance and support to students Help students identify and manage issues affecting their wellbeing, attendance, engagement or ability to learn Provide early intervention and appropriate signposting to internal and external support services Build trusting and professional relationships with students from a diverse range of backgrounds Work closely with safeguarding, pastoral, curriculum and support teams to ensure students receive appropriate support Recognise concerns and follow college safeguarding, wellbeing and referral procedures Support students experiencing anxiety, stress, low confidence, relationship difficulties or other personal challenges Promote positive mental health, resilience and healthy wellbeing across the college Maintain accurate, confidential and up-to-date records in line with college policies and data protection requirements Contribute to wellbeing activities, campaigns, workshops and initiatives across the college Work collaboratively with external agencies and specialist services where appropriate Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for all students What Youll Bring Level 3 qualification or above in Counselling, Health & Social Care, Youth Work, Mental Health, Education, Psychology or a related discipline Relevant experience of supporting young people, students or vulnerable individuals in a wellbeing, pastoral, advice or support capacity An understanding of the challenges that can affect young people's emotional wellbeing and engagement with education Knowledge of safeguarding principles and appropriate professional boundaries Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills The ability to build positive, professional relationships and provide non-judgemental support Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage confidential information appropriately The ability to recognise when a student requires additional or specialist support and make appropriate referrals A calm, compassionate and professional approach A proactive attitude and commitment to promoting positive student wellbeing A willingness to develop your knowledge and professional skills Make a move that truly pays off If you're ready for a rewarding role where you can support students, develop your professional skills and make a genuine difference to young people's lives, we'd love to hear from you.
