Role: FPGA Engineer (CEMA Experience Preferred)

Location: Bristol (Hybrid)

Duration: 6 months

Our client is a leading global aerospace, Defence, and security company specializing in delivering complex, mission-critical solutions. They support governments, armed forces, and commercial clients worldwide across various sectors, including aviation, marine, land, and nuclear. Renowned for safety, sustainability, and innovation, they focus on operational excellence and cutting-edge technological solutions.

This position is based in Bristol with hybrid working options. The ideal candidate will have hands-on FPGA design and development experience, with a preference for familiarity with CEMA (Communications, Electronics, and Microwave Applications).

• Design, develop, and test FPGA-based solutions for defence and aerospace systems.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams for system integration and performance.
• Develop and review technical documentation, including design specs and test plans.
• Conduct FPGA code reviews, verification, and validation.
• Support troubleshooting and provide technical expertise during projects.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions within project deadlines.
• Proven FPGA development experience using VHDL or Verilog.
• Experience with FPGA tool chains (Xilinx, Intel/Altera, etc.).
• Knowledge of CEMA technologies is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
• Previous experience in defence, aerospace, or related sectors is a plus.
