We are exclusively hiring for our client, a specialist engineering company based in Craigavon, who are seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join their growing controls department. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or junior engineer looking to build a career within electrical controls and automation. The successful candidate will gain practical experience across control panel wiring, PLC programming, electrical testing, fault finding and the commissioning of automation systems.
The company works with motors, gearboxes, variable speed drives, soft starters, switch gear, PLCs and HMIs. You will receive hands-on support and training while contributing to a variety of customer-led engineering projects.

- Wire and assemble electrical control panels
- Assist with the programming of PLC and HMI systems
- Support the testing and fault finding of electrical control systems
- Work with motors, VSDs, soft starters and switch gear
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Assist experienced engineers with automation projects
- Provide technical support to customers when required
- Attend occasional customer sites for installation and commissioning
- Develop knowledge of the company’s electrical and automation products
- Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
- Recent graduates and junior HLA apprentices are encouraged to apply
- A basic understanding of PLC programming or control systems would be beneficial
- Practical experience with electrical wiring, control panels or university engineering projects would be advantageous
- Able to read electrical drawings or schematics
- Keen to develop a long-term career within electrical engineering and automation
- Practical, motivated and willing to learn
- Comfortable working as part of a collaborative engineering team
- Salary of £26,000–£28,000, depending on experience
