Financial Controller

We’re recruiting an experienced Financial Controller to lead financial accounting, controls, and reporting across a complex, multi‑site UK & Ireland organisation. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is confident delivering through both shared services and local teams.

• Ownership of the balance sheet, month‑end close, and financial controls
• Lead working capital improvements and cashflow initiatives
• Review and challenge shared service centre outputs (reconciliations, journals, processes)
• Act as escalation point for technical accounting, audit, and statutory reporting
• Drive process improvement, standardisation, and control enhancements
• Support operational teams on fixed assets, leases, and other accounting matters
• Partner with group finance, tax, treasury, and other central functions
• Support M&A integration and project delivery where required

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Assistant FC in a complex, multi‑site business
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP & IFRS)
• Skilled in financial reporting, controls, and process improvement
• Comfortable working with shared services and managing multiple stakeholders
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence and drive change
• Hands‑on, proactive, and able to operate in a fast‑moving environment
• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
