Hays are exclusively recruiting for a PE Backed Business in Bristol looking for a Financial Controller. Your new company A fast-growing, PE-backed business is looking to recruit a Financial Controller on a permanent basis. Based in Central Bristol and offering hybrid working, we are looking for a technically strong accountant that can come in and manage a small team. Your new role Reporting to the CFO, this is a great opportunity to put your own personal stamp on a fast-paced business.

You will lead a small finance team, own core reporting, and drive financial performance across international markets. The role will include:
Team leadership - Lead, develop, and motivate a small finance team handling a broad operational remit. Month-end ownership - Oversee all ledger postings, balance sheet reconciliations, group consolidation, and review of reporting packs whilst delivering management accounts. Board reporting - Produce monthly board materials, including analysis and commentary. Treasury management - Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity, and foreign currency exposure.

Investor & banking returns - Prepare financial submissions for investors and lenders. Annual reporting - Support preparation of annual financial statements and statutory returns. Audit lead - Lead the external audit process. Stakeholder engagement - Work closely with internal teams and external partners, including private equity. Process & controls - Strengthen financial processes, policies, and controls across the group. What you'll need to succeed We are looking for a qualified accountant, ideally with prior audit experience.

You should have a proven track record of driving process improvements, financial performance and team development in a fast-growth environment. In addition, it would be ideal if you worked in a multi-currency business and experience using Xero would also be a bonus. You should be happy going into a Central Bristol office 3 days per week.
