Biomedical Scientist (Specialist) - Band 6

We are seeking a Specialist Biomedical Scientist (Band
6) to join Southern Trust (Craigavon/Newry). The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic laboratory services to support patient care.

Ideal applicants should have a specialist portfolio in either Haematology or Blood Transfusion. This role involves working as part of a team and as a lone worker (during our of hours).

• Haematology: Extensive experience with Sysmex XN-series analysers and track systems & Proficiency in film reading is Highly Desirable
• Coagulation: Extensive experience with ACL TOP analysers is Highly Desirable.
• Transfusion: Full competency on Bio-Rad automation IH-500 or IH-1000 and manual gel card techniques (Dia Med).
• LIMS: Proficiency in Win Path is preferred.

• HCPC Registration: Current and valid as a Biomedical Scientist.

  Qualification:
  
  Must hold the IBMS Specialist Diploma (Haematology with Hospital Transfusion Practice) or the BBTS Specialist Certificate
  . Candidates without a completed specialist portfolio or BBTS certification will not be considered for this Band 6 role.
• UKTLC Compliance: The candidate must be able to demonstrate recent evidence of competency in a UK Transfusion environment to meet safety standards for lone-working/shift participation.

Location: Craigavon & Newry

Salary: £38,682 - £46,580 (Band 6 salary scale)
