About the Company

Join a hyper-growth, VC-backed SaaS company building a world-class engineering function in the Northern Ireland. With a decade of success and recent strategic acquisitions, they’ve evolved into a global-scale platform delivering powerful, data-driven solutions with AI/ML capabilities at its core.

This is a high-autonomy, remote-first role in a team that values engineering excellence, collaboration, and technical ownership. You’ll be one of the first senior hires in their new UK engineering base, working alongside top-tier engineers across the UK, US, and Europe to develop the next generation of their backend systems.

The Role

We’re seeking an experienced Python/Django Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems. You’ll take ownership of features end-to-end, contribute to architectural decisions, and collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions.
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs using best practices and TDD.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, QA, and Dev Ops to deliver robust features.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and influence key technical decisions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, implementing long-term fixes.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and ensure strong observability practices.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and apply them to solve complex challenges.
  • 5+ years developing customer-facing web/software applications.
  • Strong Python and Django experience.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain RESTful APIs using TDD.
  • Solid understanding of version control (Git) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in distributed teams.
Bonus Points For
  • Experience with Postgres and CentOS.
  • Background in requirement gathering and customer-facing technical sessions.
  • Experience with OS package upgrades.
  • Familiarity with IaC tools (Terraform, Cloud Formation).
  • Exposure to monitoring/logging tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities.
  • Startup or high-growth environment experience.
Why Join?
  • Be one of the first key hires in a newly formed Northern Ireland engineering function.
  • Shape the technical direction of a global-scale platform.
  • Work with high-calibre engineers across multiple continents.
  • Enjoy a fully remote, high-trust, and high-autonomy culture.
  • Excellent opportunities to progress into leadership or architecture-focused roles.
