About us

Based in Craigavon, Co. Armagh, Wilson’s Country Ltd specialises in pre-packed, peeled and prepared potatoes.

We supply food retailers, caterers and food processing companies with a range of products, offering quality, taste, full traceability and value for money.

An exciting opportunity has become available within our Procurement team for a Junior Buyer
. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop a career in purchasingwithin a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

As Junior Buyer, reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will support the procurement and supply of potatoes, ensuring stock availability, quality standards, and cost objectives are achieved. You will work closely with growers, suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams to help maintain a reliable and efficient supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support procurement planning and forecasting activities.
  • Source and purchase potatoes in line with quality, volume, and budget requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with growers, producers, and suppliers.
  • Assist with supplier negotiations and supply agreements.
  • Coordinate transport, deliveries, and goods inward activities.
  • Monitor stock levels, storage, stock rotation, and inventory accuracy.
  • Analyse procurement and market data to support purchasing decisions.
  • Process purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement records.
  • Deputise for the Procurement Manager when required.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Good analytical and numerical ability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous procurement, purchasing, supply chain, agriculture, or food manufacturing experience is desirable.

Additional Information

Due to the seasonal nature of the business and customer demand, flexibility regarding working hours is required. Additional hours may be necessary at peak operational periods. The successful candidate will also be expected to support other operational activities as business needs require.
