Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 06:00/08:00 - 14:30/16:30 & Friday 06:00/08:00 - 13:30/15:30

Are you ready to take the next step in your career? We're looking for a proactive and reliable Key Operative to support the smooth running of our Hatchery. This is a hands‑on role with leadership responsibilities, offering variety across key areas including supervision, egg handling, chick despatch, and quality control.

The Key Operative works as a member of a team of hatchery operatives, reporting to the management team. Effective liaison, team working and interaction with other operatives and supervisory staff is essential

• Must be literate and numerate.
• Must be able to think clearly.
• Must be able to work as a team member.
• Must have a positive attitude to work and others
• Good manual dexterity is essential.
• Good level of English is essential
• Good time keeping is essential
• Basic Computer literacy is beneficial
• Previous hatchery experience is desirable.
• Previous supervisory/people management experience is desirable.
• Good communication skills are essential.
• The ability to work on own initiative is essential
• The ability to organise and prioritise work is essential
• Ability to solve problems essential
• Mechanical aptitude essential
• Positive attitude to work and others is essential.
• Able to undertake responsibility essential
• Evidence of leadership qualities essential
• Awareness of health and safety essential
• Awareness of hygiene is desirable
• Awareness of Animal Welfare is desirable
