Java Developer - SC Cleared

Contract Length: 5 months with extensions

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Location: Fully Remote (UK-based only)

Active SC Clearance required

We are looking for an experienced SC Cleared Java Developer to join a delivery-focused team working on secure, cloud-based systems. You’ll be contributing to the design and development of scalable backend services in a modern AWS environment, working closely with other engineers, Dev Ops, and product stakeholders.

This role is fully remote but candidates must be UK-based and hold active SC Clearance

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java backend services
• Build and enhance microservices using Spring Boot
• Work within an AWS cloud environment (Lambda, EC2, S3, etc.)
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code
• Collaborate within agile, cross-functional teams
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
• Support the full software development lifecycle

• Active SC Security Clearance (mandatory)
• Strong commercial experience with Java
• Proven experience using Spring Boot
• Hands-on experience with AWS
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern Dev Ops practices
• Comfortable working in agile environments (Scrum/Kanban)
• Experience working on government or public sector projects
• Knowledge of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with messaging technologies (e.g. SQS, SNS, Kafka)

• Fully remote within the UK
