Role Overview The AI Developer Tooling Lead will own how the organisation introduces, manages and improves AI tools for developers - making sure the right people have access to the right tools, usage is secure and cost-effective, and teams understand how to use them well. Sitting within Dev Ops, this role goes beyond a single project: it's a chance to help build the platforms, practices and specialist capability that turn AI tooling into measurable business value at enterprise scale.

Key Responsibilities Own and improve the AI developer tooling approach across Git Hub Copilot, Amazon Kiro and other tools Configure and manage tools so they're secure, compliant and aligned to enterprise standards Support a tiered tooling model based on role, need, value and risk Manage licensing, seat allocation, usage visibility and cost controls Build reporting that shows adoption, usage, value, cost and productivity impact Partner with Security, Risk, Compliance and Finance to ensure responsible, well-governed use Create clear guidance that helps teams use AI developer tools safely and effectively What You'll Need Essential 5 years' industry experience in software engineering or application development

Experience with AI-driven engineering tools and techniques (Kiro, Git Hub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, Compound Engineering) Experience designing developer productivity metrics or platform observability in a large organisation (500 engineers) Stakeholder management across engineering, finance and procurement

Experience with usage-based billing, Fin Ops principles or cloud cost management Right to work in Northern Ireland (no sponsorship available) Desirable Git Hub Enterprise administration (org policies, SAML/SCIM, Actions) AWS account management, IAM, cost allocation tagging Developer survey design (DX, SPACE framework) Familiarity with MCP architecture Microsoft 365 Copilot tenant administration Background in Dev Ops, platform engineering or developer experience teams Benefits & Package Competitive salary DOE plus bonus, hybrid working (2 days per week in Belfast), and ownership of a brand-new AI Centre of Excellence capability.
