Hardware Deployment Technician

Northumbria Healthcare Digital Services is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our Hardware Team as a Hardware Deployment Technician. The role involves supporting hardware and software installations across Trust sites.

This is a full‑time position Monday to Friday, based at our Digital Services hub in Seaton Delaval, with flexibility to work across all Trust sites.

Main duties of the job

Primary customer is Northumbria Healthcare NHS FT. The IT support officer supports existing PC equipment and software, deploying new equipment and software.

Job responsibilities
  • Provide support for all PC equipment, software, and mobile devices throughout the Trust, including installation of PC hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Investigate routine enquiries and provide assistance and advice as required.
  • Order, install, and configure new IT desktop equipment and mobile devices.
  • Ensure new equipment is installed and configured timely and in line with Trust standards and service levels.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic Service Desk support calls in a timely manner and in line with Trust standards and service levels.
  • Work within the Trust IM&T Security Policy at all times and ensure all systems supported comply with it.
  • Undergo staff training and development as required and attend all team and departmental meetings.
  • Update systems to track the lifetime of IT assets within the Trust.
  • Participate in the on‑call rota.
Person Specification Experience
  • Demonstrable knowledge of desktop & mobile equipment, including PCs, laptops, printers, iOS or Android devices.
  • Good knowledge of Windows‑based operating systems, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office suites, with ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic IT incidents.
  • Knowledge of network fundamentals and experience of connecting and disconnecting network devices.
Qualifications
  • ECDL or equivalent qualification or knowledge.
  • NVQ3 or HNC in a PC/desktop support related discipline.
