Our client is an established engineering and manufacturing organisation looking to recruit an experienced Production Manager into a senior leadership role.

The position will take responsibility for Production and Production Engineering activity across a multi-site operation, with a strong focus on injection moulding, tooling, quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading Production and Production Engineering teams
  • Managing manufacturing performance across multiple sites
  • Driving improvements across safety, quality, cost and delivery
  • Monitoring production performance and implementing corrective actions
  • Improving cycle times, efficiency and manufacturing capability
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting new tooling projects and mould trials
  • Working with external toolmakers on new and existing tooling
  • Leading new mould sampling and validation
  • Troubleshooting moulding, tooling and process-related issues
  • Ensuring products meet customer and quality requirements
  • Maintaining high QHSE standards
  • Developing team capability, accountability and engagement
The Person

We are interested in speaking with candidates who have:

  • Strong experience within plastics manufacturing and injection moulding
  • 5+ years’ experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Previous senior production or manufacturing leadership experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of injection moulding processes and machinery
  • Experience of tooling and working with toolmakers
  • Experience of new mould sampling and validation
  • A proven continuous improvement background
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Experience working within established QHSE standards
  • Good commercial awareness and problem-solving ability

An engineering or manufacturing qualification would be advantageous, although strong practical experience will also be considered.
