Senior Chemical Project Engineer

About the Role  Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Chemical Project Engineer to manage and execute capital projects for their facilities in Kimberley . This role requires a strong background in project management, process design, and execution within the chemical industry. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from conception and feasibility studies through to commissioning and handover, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

This is a critical leadership position offering significant responsibility and the opportunity to drive substantial capital investments.

Key Responsibilities   Manage the planning, design, procurement, and construction phases of chemical capital projects.
Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules, and track progress against these objectives.
Lead multi-disciplinary project teams, including engineers, contractors, and vendors.
Ensure all projects comply with company standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
Perform technical reviews of designs and vendor proposals.
Oversee the commissioning and start-up of new process equipment and plants.
Requirements   Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in project engineering and management within the chemical sector.
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex capital projects on schedule and within budget.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).

Experience with P&t, HAZOP studies, and process safety reviews.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
