Consumer Electronics Mechanical Design Engineer

Design consumer electronics hardware in Kimberley, Northern Cape, ZA, using Solid Works or Creo and applying thermal management expertise. This hybrid position spans concept development through mass production.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will develop enclosures, structures, and mechanisms for compact electronic devices. You will create CAD models and manufacturing drawings, conduct thermal analysis, select materials, and support integrated product designs. The work requires attention to tolerances, manufacturability, aesthetics, and cost targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Design enclosures, internal structures, and mechanisms using CAD software
Create 3D models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings
Perform thermal analysis and simulations for heat dissipation
Select materials based on strength, durability, aesthetics, and manufacturability
Support prototypes, testing, documentation, and design improvements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Minimum four years' mechanical design experience
Consumer electronics product design experience
Proficiency with Solid Works, Creo, and PDM or PLM systems
Understanding of thermal management and manufacturing processes
Apply mechanical design, CAD, thermal analysis, and manufacturing knowledge to develop compact consumer electronics products in Kimberley.
