We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inspiring special school in Cranbrook. This role is ideal for someone who is committed to helping students with additional needs thrive - and for those considering a future career in teaching or education.

We are a specialist setting for students aged 11-18 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Our school prides itself on delivering personalised learning in a nurturing, inclusive environment, where every pupil is supported to reach their full potential.

The Role

Monday to Friday - 9am to 4pm

  • Support students with their learning, development, and emotional wellbeing
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups, both in and outside the classroom
  • Help deliver engaging, personalised learning activities
  • Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction
  • Assist teachers with planning, resources, and student progress records
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with students
  • Support pupils in developing skills for independence and future success
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with young people (school, care, youth work, or volunteer background)
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • A genuine passion for working with students with additional needs
  • A positive, resilient, and proactive attitude
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to personal and professional development
