Retail Team Member

We’re looking for a Retail Team Member to welcome visitors to the National Trust shop at Sissinghurst Castle Garden, answer their questions, and help them make the most of their day.

Salary: £12.75 per hour

Contract / Duration: Fixed term contract until 30‑Sep‑2026

Hours / Working Pattern: Seasonal, flexible, weekends. This is a zero‑hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts. Typical shifts are part‑time, 2 to 5 days per week on a rota basis.

• Assist visitors with shopping and provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain high standards of presentation in the shop.
• Explain how purchases support the National Trust’s work.
• Arrange, receive, and unpack deliveries.
• Create shop displays and keep the shop floor clean and organised.

• Willing to learn new skills.
